Year 5 Mission to Mars (ENTRY POINT)

To start off our IPC topic, the whole of year 5 went to the Science Museum. We watched a 3D film about a NASA moon landing and explored the science and space area. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and it was a great way to start off our super space learning!

Our Year 5 science topic: changing sound had the children design and make their own unique musical instrument.  Their challenge: –

• Their instrument had to make a variety of sounds
• Their instrument had to change pitch.

They met their challange and were very proud! Our instruments are on display in our classroom.  Well done Year 5!

Year 5 Entry Point – Thinking about drugs!

Today in Year 5 we had a visit from a pharmacist, Daniel, and PC Mark Denny. They spoke to us about drugs and the implications of taking them. Daniel taught us about legal drugs and how even over the counter medicine can be dangerous if we don’t take it correctly. PC Denny spoke to us about illegal drugs and the consequences of ‘being in possession’.  We had an interesting morning and had a lot of our questions answered, but we still have more to find out…

Year 1’s Bonfire Party

Year 1 are finding out about different Celebrations this half term.  For our entry point we planned our own Bonfire Party. We  decided to make cakes and fruit skewers for our celebration. We made our own ‘guys’ to put on the bonfire. We collected leaves and twigs for the bonfire.  Miss Gittens and Hannah helped us with the sparklers.

Games made by children

Children in the ICT club on Tuesday afternoon have been working hard to create their own games in 2 Simple DIY.
