Year Two started our new topic of Night and Day by visiting our darkest room in the school – the Boiler Room!! Even though it was a little scary all children were able to experience the complete absence of light and lit the room with a variety of light sources. Take a look at our photographs…

An Invitation to Year 2’s Diwali Assembly

All year 2 families are warmly invited to the Year 2 Diwali Assembly on Thursday 3rd November at 9am.
The children have all being working very hard: learning about Diwali; making masks and rangoli patterns; learning dances and drumming and rehearsing their lines. Some of the children have even made an animation to tell the story of Rama and Sita.

Circus time!

Year 2 had a great time with circus performers Albert and Friends today. They had lots of fun and practised juggling, balancing, riding a unicycle, walking the tight rope, spinning plates and throwing diabolos.

Be a clown!

Year 2 launched their new IPC topic on Circus today. They found out about the register of clowns’ faces and then designed their own – painting it carefully onto a friend’s face.

Celebrating the Royal Wedding – Year 2 polo match

To celebrate the Royal wedding Year 2 children learned about one of Prince William’s favourite sports – polo. They made hobby horses and hats and played a polo match in the playground this morning.

Year 2’s Museum

The Time Detectives in Year 2 opened a fabulous museum full of Celtic and Roman artefacts as a finale to their learning on digging up the past.

Year 2’s time detectives visit Fulham Palace

Year 2 visited Fulham Palace Museum to start their IPC topic ‘Time Detectives’ with a bang. The children took part in a workshop about the Romans – and as ‘Time Detectives’ looked closely for clues in the building to discover which part was the oldest.

Running a cafe is a hard job!

Year 2 ended their learning on the Jobs People Do, by running a cafe for their parents and friends. The children took on all the roles in the cafe – they’d already cooked the cakes on the menu – waiters and waitresses, sign and menu makers, till staff…. We hope our customers enjoyed their trip to our cafe!

The children in Year 2 enjoyed finding all about what it’s like to work in a shop, all thanks to Richard. They put really thoughtful and sensible questions to Leonie about her job in the Disney Store.
