Year 5 Planetarium Visit!

As our IPC topic is called ‘Mission to Mars’ and we are learning about Earth and space, it seemed a great idea to invite a planetarium to visit the year 5 classes. We were so excited! For some of us it was our first time to visit one. The entrance was really exiciting too! We learnt about seasons, night and day and star constellations. We learnt so much from Matthew and said so at the end too!

Year 5 Mission to Mars (ENTRY POINT)

To start off our IPC topic, the whole of year 5 went to the Science Museum. We watched a 3D film about a NASA moon landing and explored the science and space area. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and it was a great way to start off our super space learning!

Year 5 IPC- Myth Legends and Beliefs

Year 5 worked very hard throughout the topic and produced some fantastic learning. This included: Posters, PowerPoint presentations, mythical stories, dramatic plays and poems…

IPC Topic for Autumn Term 2 – Night and Day

Year Two started our new topic of Night and Day by visiting our darkest room in the school – the Boiler Room!!  Even though it was a little scary all children were able to experience the complete absence of light and lit the room with a variety of light sources.  Take a look at our photographs…

Year 4 trip to the Natural History Museum

Year 4 went to the Natural History Museum on Tuesday 2oth September, we visited the Red Zone and learnt a little more on Natural Disasters for our topic.

Nursery – Firemen Visit

The nursery children are going to be looking at different types of emergency vehicles as part of our IPC topic Going Places. To introduce the theme we were visited by firemen from Hammersmith Fire Station. They showed us their fire engine and we looked at the uniform they have to wear. They even let us squirt the hose, which was so powerful that we got splashed as we waited for our turn.

  

 

 

 

 

Nursery Entry Point – a journey to the seaside

The nursery became the seaside today for our new IPC topic: Going Places. We had a lovely sunny day, lots of sand and even went paddling. Have a look at the photos of what we got up to:

We decided the best way to get to the seaside was by bus.

  

  We couldn’t wait to take our shoes and socks off to have a paddle. It was a bit colder than we expected though!

   

  Moving around helped warm up our feet.

 

The wet sand was great for practising writing our letters…

 

and for making sandcastles.

 

We used nets to catch some sea creatures. Then all we had to do was count to see who caught the most.

Nursery – Ship Ahoy!

The children were surprised today when a Pirate ship arrived in the nursery garden. What adventures were ahead!

         

Raise the anchor and then we’re on our way to Treasure Island

Year 3 Art Gallery

Red and Ruby class turned the middle hall into an art gallery for the afternoon. Children from other classes were invited to make their own art.  We even had a quiz with prizes for the correct answers.   All the children worked hard to create beautiful artwork.
